We came home from MN yesterday and got mail from The Department of Homeland Security (Citizenship and Immigration Services)! They have our homestudy, and they have scheduled us for our fingerprint appointment on January 2nd! The fingerprint process is the final step of our application to CIS (unless they ask for additional info, which I do not think is common). We then will hopefully get our I-171H (the approval) soon, which will allow us to submit our dossier to Vietnam.
(It was fortunate that we did not go on a longer out-of-town vacation, because we are both off work until the 2nd/3rd and we could have missed our appointments - which would have resulted in an "abandoned application".)
